The Respiragene™ test represents a dramatic new approach to measuring lung cancer susceptibility and is the result of a dedicated, 8-year research program featuring numerous studies of smokers and ex-smokers in the community; ongoing ethical and scientific peer review of the science behind the test; and collaborations with doctors around the world seeking a new way to help counter one of the most stubborn but preventable health problems in the United States today. While original studies involved patients outside of the U.S., a number of studies including U.S. smoker populations are under way.
